WHAT IS REVELATE?

REVELATE is a project born from the idea of reveal and elevate. Fueled by passion and a deep interest in dance, the project seeks to deepen understanding of choreography while elevating appreciation for the craft and the people behind it.

THE GOAL

Guided by research and real experiences, these objectives shape the project’s aim to support, inform, and empower choreographers at different stages of their journey.

 

Inform aspiring choreographers of the psychological and cognitive factors that go into choreography as a form of artistic expression and professional work. 

Provide a platform for choreographers’ experiences and offer strategies for coping and navigating creative challenges.

Enable current and aspiring choreographers to pursue a career in choreography with the proper knowledge and mindset for a better chance for success.

THE INSIGHTS THAT SHAPED REVELATE.

Choreography extends beyond movement, revealing a creative process shaped by emotional and mental demands, as well as pressures such as burnout, time constraints, originality, and social media influence.
Insights point to intention as a grounding force, with choreographers consistently returning to purpose to maintain authenticity in their work.
Movement emerges as a personal space, where choreography allows release, fulfillment, and creation driven by internal needs rather than expectation.
Rather than hindering creativity, challenges appear to shape resilience and growth, reinforcing the enduring strength of the choreographer’s voice and the importance of care in sustaining the art form.
